Ninety Mile Beach offers fantastic surf fishing for the keen angler. Flathead and Snapper are regular bites throughout the year. Local stores have plenty of bait supplies as well. A major fishing competition is held every year at Golden Beach over the Easter long weekend.
Wildlife
You won't even have to leave the house to see kangaroos bounding around all over the backyard not to mention koala's sleeping in the trees out the back.
And if you have a torch and don't make much noise, look out for 'Wally the Wombat' who sometimes lives under the house in his burrow and comes out to feed at night.
Birdlife such as Crimson and Eastern Rosellas, Blue Wrens, Silver Eyes, Red Browed Finch, and honey eaters nest in the trees on the property. Rainbow Lorikeet, Crimson Rosellas and the bossy Magpies are regularly seen perched on the bird feed directly in front of the living room window.
If you are down the beach, you might be lucky to see whales during their migration period otherwise dolphins at dusk rounding up salmon for dinner.
National Park
The Gippsland Lakes Coastal Park is a narrow coastal reserve covering 17,584
hectares along a portion of the Ninety Mile Beach, from Seaspray to Lakes
Entrance. The park also includes the internationally significant Lake Reeve,
several islands and the Boole Poole Peninsula. The house is ideally located to use as a base for exploring.
The Trinculo Wreck
The ship struck a sandbar 30 metres from shore and slewed broadside to the beach. The barque Trinculo 318 tons, built 1858, length 138.1 feet, beam 23.7 feet, was forced ashore by a gale in 1879.
Golf Course
Golden Beach has a 9 hole golf course available 7 days a week for a cost of $10 per person. A new club house has recently been built as well. Click here to download a map for the Golf Course.
Water Sports
Ninety Mile Beach is a popular spot for windsurfing and surfing due to it's double sand bar, however it is not for the inexperienced.
Otherwise nearby Loch Sport and Lake Victoria offers fantastic water sport activities and launching ramps for sailing, windsurfing, canoeing, waterskiing and jet skis.
RAAF Roulettes
The RAAF Roulettes training base is at nearby Sale and they are regularily out training over Paradise Beach. Look out for them!
Tennis Courts
A few tennis courts are located nearby at Golden Beach.
BMX Track
There is a BMX track not far from the house at Golden Beach.
